The recall begins June 24 but only covers 2011-13 Mazda 3 vehicles sold in these states: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia & Wisconsin.

Safety Standards set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which grade the safest vehicles as a Top Safety Pick (TSP) or Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+), have tested and rated the following 2014 vehicles, assigning highest ratings to each.
